Alicia Dudeney climbs up the rankings!
We’re really grateful to Alicia for giving us an update on her progress this year. Her current ranking is 236, up from 439 when we last heard from her at the start of 2026, following an extremely busy and successful few months.
Alicia: I’ve had some great tournaments this year. After a slightly slow start to the year on the singles court, I really fell into a groove around March.
MARCH – MAY: BACK TO BACK WINS
I won back-to-back W15 titles in Monastir (Tunisia) and then won the W35 in Nottingham, followed by the W35 in Estepona (Spain).

In the same period, I

also reached some doubles finals and won a W15 title in France.
This gave me a lot of confidence and opened up some great opportunities for me going into the grass court season.
JUNE: WILDCARDS
I was lucky to receive some wildcards this summer starting with the WTA125 in Birmingham and Ilkley, followed by my first WTA250 events in Nottingham and Eastbourne.
These were great experiences, and it was so special for me to be able to compete in Eastbourne, as this is a tournament that I went to growing up and has always been a dream of mine to play. I even got to see some young Pav and Tennis Sussex players over there which was really nice!
JULY: MY FIRST GRAND SLAM AT WIMBLEDON & MY FIRST W50 WIN
The best wildcard this year was for the main draw at Wimbledon – an incredible experience!
The whole grass court season was amazing and I had some of my highest ranked wins so far. I’ve learnt a lot from it and can’t wait to compete in more of the higher-level WTA tournaments in the future.
After Wimbledon I won the W50 in Nottingham, my best title to date! This gave me enough points to get into US Open qualifying wh

ich was another great milestone for me, as it qualifying for my first grand slam from my own ranking.
Unfortunately, I picked up an injury in one of my last tournaments before the US Open and had to pull out which was extremely difficult. I was so excited and had worked so hard to get there, but these things happen for a reason. I worked hard with my rehab and am now fit to compete again.
OCTOBER: MY BEST WIN SO FAR!
I am now back on the road competing, recently getting my highest-ranked win to date at the WTA125 in Samsun (Turkey). It feels so nice to be competing again.
MY NEXT GOAL: THE AUSTRALIAN OPEN
My plan is to continue competing throughout the rest of the year with the goal of making it into the Australian Open and getting to start my year over there in January 2027.
