Ladies First Team win their first two matches with a bit of help from Julie
The Ladies 1st team have made a great start to the summer season winning both matches in consecutive weekends.
Firstly on Sunday April 15th the team of Gill, Judy, Lesley-Ann and Suzi played away at Horsham and managed a 3-1 win with Lesley-Ann and Suzi making a great comeback from being 6-2 down in the champs tiebreak to win 10-7 against Horsham’s 2nd pair and Gill and Judy winning both their matches.
On Saturday April 21st, this time playing at home on a very hot day, the team again won 3-1 against a very strong Comptons team. Judy and Gill just narrowly lost out 10-8 on a champs tie-break to their 1st pair but managed to turn things around to beat their 2nd pair to leave it 2-1 in Pav’s favour with the first pairs battling it out. A relative newcomer to the team, Julie Hobbs (!), paired with Leslie Ann, managed to show both Compton’s pairs how its done. Thanks Julie for giving up your time and being part of our team.
