Sonay wins 2026 LTA Female Player of the Year!

Sonay Kartal enjoyed a strong and memorable 2025 season, reaching a career-high of No.44 in the world after breaking into the top 50 for the first time.

Her impressive Wimbledon run to the fourth round, which included a win over No.20 seed Jelena Ostapenko, marked a real highlight.

She followed that up with solid performances throughout the year, including a last-16 appearance at Indian Wells and two key singles victories in Great Britain’s Billie Jean King Cup win over the Netherlands.

Kartal capped off her season with a quarter-final finish at the China Open, earning her biggest career win against world No.5 Mirra Andreeva — a fitting reward for her continued progress on the world stage.
