Membership
Pav & Ave is a thriving and very friendly club with over 650 members (including 170 juniors).
Facilities
We have 8 LED floodlit all weather clay courts as well as 2 acrylic courts that are covered by an airhall ‘bubble’ from October to April to provide indoor winter tennis.
Activities for Everyone
We aim to offer something for every tennis player with [very] active box leagues, competitive team tennis (with 5 men’s teams, 3 ladies teams, mixed doubles and junior teams), social tennis and a thriving junior programme as well as coaching for all levels in squads and 121 lessons.
Our clubhouse offers changing facilities and a cafe/bar as well as being a venue for wine tastings, our annual sell-out Christmas quiz, karaoke, cake sales, parties and more.
Accolades
As well as having Tennis Mark status (a mark of excellence awarded by the LTA in recognition of following guidelines concerning club management, coaching and child protection) we are very pleased to be one of only two LPDC’s (Local Player Development Centres’ in Sussex and one of fifty in the UK.
The Pav & Ave Hall of Fame!
Many of our members play for Sussex across all age groups (from 6 to 79 years young!), some go on to play University Tennis in USA and others achieve success on the world stage including:
- Our head coach Julie Hobbs (nee Pullin) was GB #1 from 2000-2002.
- Sonay Kartal started playing tennis at Pav at the age of 6 years old and is now the GB #2 and World #70.
- Alicia Dudeney is now in the World #500.
