Julie Hobbs (nee Pullin) LTA Senior Performance Coach (Level 4) – Club Head Coach
Julie grew up within the club, playing in junior and senior teams for the club and County. She turned professional in 1991 and on the WTA Tour, her highest world singles ranking was 125 and doubles, 67. She was British Singles champion twice and British number one in singles and doubles for several years. Julie was forced to retire from the professional circuit in 2003 with a shoulder injury. Julie heads up the Club coaching programme working with players of all ages and levels.

Martin Reeves – LTA Master Coach (Level 5)
Martin grew up playing at Pav & Ave and is a former U21 England player plus Sussex County Champion both senior and junior. He is both a former LTA Talent Performance Co-ordinator for Sussex and captain for multiple British and Sussex junior county teams

Adam Webb – LTA Level 3 Coach, Referee and Tournament Organiser
Adam has 14 years’ experience coaching and running tournaments specialising in mini tennis performance, schools, development and disability tennis. He is also our referee for our annual Club Championships and all our LTA sanctioned events.

Ben Reeves – LTA Level 3 Performance Coach
Ben started playing tennis aged 3 years at Pavilion and Avenue and represented the club in all the junior teams and then the Men’s senior team for many years. He was a former national standard junior and his biggest highlight was beating Andy Murray in a doubles match in Bournemouth. Ben has also won junior and senior Sussex titles and completed his Level 3 LTA Coaching Qualification in March 2008.
Ben coaches Pav member Sonay Kartal who started her tennis journey at the club aged 6 and is now a top 100 ranked player on the WTA tour. He was awarded the LTA National Performance Coach of the year in 2025.

James Hope – LTA Level 3 Performance Coach
James grew up at Pav & Ave and started helping with Saturday junior squads at 12 years of age before going on to represent the Club in all age groups. He won the Sussex County 14 & under junior doubles title and is a former Sussex junior county captain. James heads up the Mini Tennis and Cardio programmes at the Club.

Jemma Turner – LTA Level 2 Tennis Instructor
Jemma has enjoyed coaching at Pav & Ave for 5 years. She runs junior squads for all ages, and enjoys coaching individual sessions for both adults and juniors.
She is currently the Ladies 2nd Team Captain and the Boys 18U Singles Captain. She is also one of the 10U Girls County Coaches. She has previously run the Ladies 1st and 3rd Teams and the Ladies Singles Team. She manages the Mixed Doubles League and some social tournaments throughout the year and always looks forward to running the Annual Christmas Quiz!

Tom Beuttell-Triggs – LTA Level 2 Tennis Instructor
Tom joined the club when he was 9 years old, playing for the Club’s junior teams & representing the Club’s Men’s teams since 2017. As a junior he represented Sussex throughout all age groups of his junior career, and in 2022 was a Sussex County Championships Men’s singles and doubles finalist. He was the Pav & Ave Men’s Singles Club Champion in 2018 and 2021.
He is now enjoying coaching both adults and juniors both individually and in squads at the Club he grew up at.
